IBAK PANORAMO 2 has a unique scanner technology for highly-efficient pipe inspections; on the one hand, pipe inspections can be carried out at a substantially higher speed than with conventional systems. On the other hand, the user receives, apart from the 3D film containing the complete recordings of the entire pipe inspection, a processed illustration. Priceless advantage: Irrespective of the actual sewer inspection, it is possible to assess the condition in the office at any time - just as if the inspector was live on-site. The viewer can move freely in the pipe without any view restrictions, he can stop at any position, pan by 360°, zoom, look into inlets and even look backwards – all this, without interfering with the recorded graphical material. All objects such as displaced joints, protruding pipe connections etc. can thus be viewed in detail from all sides. With Panoramo, a quantum leap in sewer inspection has been achieved; the system meets a whole range of long-lasting calls and requirements referring to the inspection system: immediate and extremely precise information of the highest quality regarding the state of sewers, 100% objective, fast, 3D and accessible at any time.

The PANORAMO principle

The IBAK PANORAMO, unlike conventional sewer TV systems, uses two high-resolution digital photo cameras with 186° fisheye lenses, which take semispherical images in distances of 5 cm. These are transmitted digitally to the inspection vehicle and there they are put together to form 360° spherical images, from which then a complete 3D interior view of the pipe is generated. In contrast to the video technology, where constant lighting and a rotating camera cause high image blur, the short Xenon flashes of Panoramo guarantee pin sharp images during pipe inspections, even at speeds of up to 35 cm per second.
